150 KG Marquee Weight
Product Overview
The 150kg Marquee Weight is a robust and versatile water-fillable ballast solution designed to provide reliable anchoring for marquees, gazebos, temporary structures and other outdoor installations.
Manufactured from strong and durable MDPE / polyethylene, the weight has a nominal capacity of approximately 150 litres. It can be filled with water or sand to provide substantial ballast without the need for traditional concrete blocks or ground stakes.
The rectangular design makes the weight practical for use on hard-standing surfaces where ground fixings cannot be used or are unsuitable. It is particularly useful for events, exhibitions, outdoor markets, temporary structures and other installations where reliable anchoring is required.
The tank features strong integrated handles which provide convenient carrying points and can also be used as tie-down points for securing the weight to the structure. This can provide an alternative to guy lines, helping to reduce trip hazards around the perimeter of a marquee or gazebo.
The natural translucent finish allows the approximate fill level to be viewed through the tank walls, making it easy to monitor the amount of water inside.
The weight is supplied empty, allowing it to be transported and positioned before being filled on site. Once filled with water, it provides approximately 150 kg of ballast.

Reliable Ballast for Marquees & Temporary Structures
The 150kg Marquee Weight provides a practical alternative to traditional concrete blocks and ground anchoring systems.
With a capacity of approximately 150 litres, each unit can provide approximately 150 kg of ballast when filled with water. This makes it suitable for a wide range of temporary structures where additional stability is required.
The weights are particularly useful for:
- Marquees
- Gazebos
- Event structures
- Temporary shelters
- Exhibition structures
- Outdoor trade stands
- Market stalls
- Festival structures
- Temporary canopies
- Other suitable temporary installations
The actual number and size of weights required will depend on the structure, its design, location and expected wind conditions. Always follow the structure manufacturer's anchoring and wind-loading requirements when determining the appropriate ballast.
Ideal for Hard-Standing Surfaces
One of the main advantages of the 150kg Marquee Weight is that it can be used on hard-standing surfaces where traditional ground stakes cannot be installed.
This makes it particularly suitable for:
- Tarmac
- Concrete
- Paved areas
- Car parks
- Exhibition grounds
- Courtyards
- Outdoor event spaces
- Other hard surfaces
Rather than relying on stakes driven into the ground, the weight provides a freestanding ballast solution that can be connected to the marquee or structure.
This makes it particularly useful for event organisers and contractors working in locations where permanent or temporary ground penetration is prohibited.
Water or Sand Fill
The tank can be filled with either water or sand, depending on the intended application.
Water is particularly convenient when the weights need to be transported to different locations. The units can be delivered and positioned empty before being filled using a hose or suitable container.
Once the event or installation is complete, the water can be drained before the units are moved or transported to another location.
Sand can provide an alternative where a more permanent ballast arrangement is required.
The choice of filling material should be based on the requirements of the structure, transportation arrangements and expected conditions.
Strong Handles & Tie-Down Points
The 150kg Marquee Weight features strong integrated handles designed to make the unit easier to carry and manoeuvre when empty.
The handles can also double as tie-down points, allowing suitable straps, ropes or other securing equipment to be connected to the weight.
This provides a practical alternative to guy lines and can help keep securing equipment closer to the base of the structure, potentially reducing trip hazards around busy event areas.
Suitable straps, ropes or securing equipment should always be selected according to the manufacturer's requirements and the expected loading conditions.
Applications
The 150kg Marquee Weight is suitable for a wide range of temporary and outdoor structures.
Typical applications include:
- Marquee anchoring
- Gazebo anchoring
- Event structures
- Outdoor exhibitions
- Trade shows
- Festivals
- Weddings
- Corporate events
- Market stalls
- Temporary canopies
- Outdoor hospitality structures
- Temporary shelters
- Hard-standing installations
The weights are particularly useful where ground stakes cannot be used or where avoiding ground penetration is important.
