50kg Marquee Weight

Product Overview

The 50kg Marquee Weight is a compact, practical and durable solution for anchoring smaller marquees, pop-up gazebos, event tents and other temporary outdoor structures.

Designed to provide up to 50 kg of water ballast, this purpose-built marquee weight offers a convenient alternative to traditional concrete blocks, ground stakes and guy lines, particularly on hard-standing surfaces where ground fixing is not possible or desirable.

Manufactured from strong MDPE / polyethylene, the tank is designed for repeated outdoor use and features a compact upright design measuring approximately 300 × 500 × 370 mm.

The unit can be filled on site with up to 50 litres of water, keeping the weight and cost of transportation low when compared with transporting a solid 50 kg ballast weight.

Once filled, the tank provides substantial ballast for securing smaller temporary structures, while its integrated handles make it easier to carry and provide convenient attachment points for securing straps or ropes.

The weights are also stackable, making them a practical option where multiple units are required around a marquee or gazebo.

Ideal for Marquees & Pop-Up Gazebos

The 50kg Marquee Weight has been specifically designed for smaller marquees, pop-up gazebos and event tents where reliable ballast is required without permanently fixing the structure to the ground.

It is particularly useful on hard-standing surfaces such as:

  • Concrete
  • Tarmac
  • Paving
  • Block paving
  • Courtyards
  • Exhibition areas
  • Event venues
  • Car parks
  • Outdoor hospitality areas

Where ground stakes cannot be used, these water-fillable weights provide a convenient alternative for adding ballast to the structure.

They can be positioned around the individual legs of a marquee or gazebo and connected to the frame using suitable straps, ropes or other appropriate securing methods.

The correct number and size of weights should always be determined according to the manufacturer's wind-loading guidance for the specific marquee or gazebo being used.

Integrated Handles & Tie-Down Points

The tank features strong integrated handles designed to make the unit easier to carry when empty or partially filled.

The handles also double as convenient tie-down points, allowing the weight to be connected to a marquee or gazebo frame using suitable rope, webbing or straps.

This provides an alternative to traditional guy lines, which can extend away from the structure and potentially create trip hazards around busy event areas.

Suitable attachment equipment should always be selected according to the requirements of the marquee or temporary structure.

The weight should be securely connected to the frame and positioned so that it cannot easily shift, tip or move during normal use.

50mm Scaffold Pole Hole

An additional feature of the 50kg Marquee Weight is the approximately 50 mm hole designed to accommodate a scaffold-pole-sized connection.

This provides additional flexibility when the weight is being incorporated into temporary structures or used alongside compatible framework.

The tank also features a unique 50 mm wide criss-cross feature on the base, adding further versatility to the design.

Users should ensure that any poles, framework or accessories used with the tank are suitably compatible and securely installed.

Suitable for Hard-Standing Surfaces

The 50kg Marquee Weight is particularly useful on surfaces where traditional ground stakes cannot be installed.

This makes it suitable for events and temporary structures installed on:

  • Concrete
  • Tarmac
  • Paved areas
  • Exhibition surfaces
  • Outdoor event spaces
  • Car parks
  • Commercial premises
  • Other hard-standing areas

Using ballast rather than ground stakes can also help avoid damage to the surface beneath the structure.

The weight should always be positioned on a stable, level surface and connected securely to the structure.

Applications

The 50kg Marquee Weight is suitable for a wide range of temporary outdoor structures and events, including:

  • Pop-up gazebos
  • Small marquees
  • Event tents
  • Market stalls
  • Outdoor hospitality areas
  • Trade shows
  • Exhibitions
  • Weddings
  • Festivals
  • Corporate events
  • Outdoor promotional events
  • Temporary shelters
  • Catering structures

It is particularly useful where ground stakes cannot be used or where a portable alternative to concrete ballast is preferred.

A purchase order is required; we will then create a pro-forma invoice, and tanks are ordered on clearance of funds.
