This makes them suitable for storing a wide range of substances, from water and general liquids to more aggressive chemicals, in both indoor and outdoor settings. Always check the specific chemical compatibility chart before storing anything other than water, as some solvents and acids require specific grades.

Many models in this range are designed with a stackable profile to maximise vertical storage space, though weight limits vary by size and wall thickness. As a general rule, only stack containers of the same size and type, and check the manufacturer's maximum stacking load before loading full containers on top of one another. Empty containers typically nest or stack more freely for space-saving storage between uses.

Yes, the UV-stabilised plastic used in these containers is designed to withstand prolonged outdoor exposure without becoming brittle or discoloured. That said, for long-term outdoor use we'd still recommend a level, stable base and, where practical, some protection from direct sun to further extend service life. Lidded or sealed containers also offer better protection against rainwater ingress and debris than open-top designs.

Our range runs from compact 5 litre containers ideal for small parts, samples or workshop use, up to 4,500 litre open containers for bulk industrial storage. Consider not just total volume but also footprint, doorway or gangway widths, and whether the container needs to be moved by hand, trolley or forklift once full. Standardising on a smaller number of sizes across your site often simplifies handling and reduces the need for multiple types of trolley or lifting equipment.

These containers are considerably lighter than metal equivalents, which reduces manual handling strain, but larger sizes filled with liquid or dense material can still be very heavy. Many are designed to be compatible with standard warehouse trucks and trolleys, so it's worth checking base dimensions and any integrated lifting or fork points before ordering. For regular movement of larger containers, a dedicated trolley or pallet truck is strongly recommended rather than manual lifting.

Standard sizes are generally held in stock and can be delivered within a few working days, though larger or bulk orders across multiple sizes may take longer depending on current demand. Delivery of the bigger containers (over around 1,000 litres) is usually via palletised kerbside delivery, so please ensure someone is available to help unload and manoeuvre them into position.
